Karas-McGladdery, (husband Guy, daughter Kara). her son, Bill II, (wife Marsha, daughters Kristin and Jenna). Dee has one brother, Dean Snedeker (wife Judy, son Rob Snedeker) and brother and sister in law, George and Jean Karas, (sons; Dennis and wife Claudia, Hank and wife Danny).

Achievements: During WWII she served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, receiving the American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal.

Delores E. Karas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 20, 2003.

 

Born in Marshall County, West Virginia on August 29, 1923, Dee became a Registered Nurse, graduating from Ohio Valley General Hospital in Wheeling, WV. During WWII she served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, receiving the American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal.

 

 Dee married William A. Karas on June 6, 1952 in Durand, MI. She was employed as a RN by Dr. Richards, the Durand Hospital, and assisted in the OR at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, MI.  Dee was a born again Christian who lived her life in accordance with the Scriptures and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Durand for 30 years and the past 13 years attended the Mayfair Bible Church in Flushing. 

 

She leaves behind her loving husband, Bill of 51 years of marriage, her daughter Dawn E. Karas-McGladdery, (husband Guy, daughter Kara). her son, Bill II, (wife Marsha, daughters Kristin and Jenna). Dee has one brother, Dean Snedeker (wife Judy, son Rob Snedeker) and  brother and sister in law, George and Jean Karas, (sons; Dennis and wife Claudia, Hank and wife Danny).

 

Delores’ funeral will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, 501 N. Saginaw Street in Durand, MI. Family and friends will be welcomed at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2003, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Monday, December 22, 2003 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers and in accordance with Dee’s wishes, contributions be made to the Mayfair Bible Church New Building Fund. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home. Special thanks to her many friends at Mayfair Bible Church for their prayers, and her loving friend and physician, Dr, Hindi Ahmed.
