Died Thursday afternoon with her family by her side at HealthSource, Saginaw after a lengthy illness at the age of 83 years. Eleanor was born May 13, 1928 in Saginaw, MI to the late Arthur T. and Blanche (Douglass) Lippert and has resided in this area all of her life. Eleanor was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Saginaw, was a member of the John Alden Chapter of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution. Eleanor was very active in St. John’s playing the organ and singing in the choir. She also volunteered at the VA Hospital in Saginaw.  Eleanor also taught piano for many years as well as writing a music theory book and writing and composing music. On June 23, 1951 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Saginaw she married Carl E. McLaughlin of Freeland who survives her. Also surviving are her children; Kathryn (Hugues) Coman of Freeland, Julie (Terry) Burdis of Freeland, Elizabeth (Kevin) Campbell of Midland, Carl (Kay) McLaughlin Jr., of Waterford, MI, John McLaughlin of Breckenridge. Grandchildren; Kelly (Michelle) Campbell, Brian (Rachel) Campbell, Rilaw, Michelle and Laure Coman, Ashley, Craig (Krystal) and Rachel Burdis, great grandchildren; Loghan and Grayson. Step Grandchildren; Erin Burdis; Shannon Horvath and her children Michael and Patrick; Erin Lauer and her child Chris; Michael (Lyn) Gallagher and their children, Helena, Neve and Leim. Rose (Greg) Johnson and her children; Marlina (Robert) Baker and her children; Sheila (Randy) Meyers and her children; Westley and Joshua Brown. Also surviving are a brother-in-law; Ray McLaughlin, a sister-in-law; Judy Lippert and a brother; Tom (Jan) Lippert and her nieces and nephews. A daughter-in-law; Jane McLaughlin, step grandchild; Gary Gallagher, a brother; John Lippert, sister-in-law; Sally Lippert and brother-in-law; Dale McLaughlin have predeceased Eleanor.

 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 27, 2012 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Saginaw. Rev. Daniel Cannon will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens to follow.  Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington, Freeland on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
