Passed away Wednesday April 25, 2012.  Age 90 years.  Robert Franklin Biggers was born April 1, 1922 to the late Roy Herbert and Harriet (Fishleigh) Biggers.  He married Marlette E. Steve March 27, 1943.  She predeceased him October 23, 1999.  Robert was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 439.  He enjoyed sailing, flying, photography and drawing.  Robert was employed by Michigan Bell and retired in 1983 after 39 years of service.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942-1945 as a tank driver with the 10th Armored Division.  He received the Bronze Star for his service.
Surviving are his daughter Robin Bridges, two brothers Arthur W. Biggers and Ronald H. (Janet A.) Biggers, a special friend Jacquie Forrest, and many other loving family members and friends.  Robert was predeceased by his brother Richard L. Biggers.
Funeral service will take place 3 PM Sunday April 29, 2012 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd. (S. M-47).  Rev. Paulette Cummings will officiate. Entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Mausoleum.  Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-6 PM.  Memorial offerings are suggested to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
