Survived By: Besides his wife Ellen, John leaves four children, Pamela (Randy) Heasley, Michael (Erika) Archambeau, Jeffery Archambeau, and Jill (Marc) Fontaine. Grandsons Eric and Brett Heasley and Camden Archambeau. Great grandchildren John & Elaina Heasley and Elise & Owen Heasley. Siblings: Otto, Cecil, Dorothy and Pauline, two brothers in-law and their wives, also many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents Anna and Israel Archambeau and siblings Louis, Roseanne, and Margaret.
Affiliations: at GM's Saginaw Steering Gear, he was a co-owner of Professional Technologies, INC, active member of First Presbyterian Church and served as a member of the Session, Chairman of the Personnel Committee, and Usher. John was a Junior Achievement Instructor, a member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers, the YMCA Industrial Club, and served on the board for the SSG salaried retirees. John was a volunteer VITA income tax preparer, helped build many Habitat for Humanity homes, served on Habitat's board of directors, and donated 16 gallons of blood during his lifetime

      John was born February 25, 1933 in Saginaw MI.  He passed away at the Cartwright Care Center on April 26, 2012 at age 79 after a long decline from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) a rare neurological disease.

 

      John graduated from Saginaw High School and General Motors Institute with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked his entire career at GM’s Saginaw Steering Gear serving in many positions including Plant Superintendent and supervisor in Product Engineering. After retirement he was a co-owner of Professional Technologies, INC. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and served as a member of the Session, Chairman of the Personnel Committee, and Usher. John was a Junior Achievement Instructor, a member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers, the YMCA Industrial Club, and served on the board for the SSG salaried retirees. John was a volunteer VITA income tax preparer, helped build many Habitat for Humanity homes, served on Habitat’s board of directors, and donated 16 gallons of blood during his lifetime. John served with the US Army in post war Germany. He always loved nature and outdoor activities and he instilled the same appreciation in his children and grandchildren. John and Ellen took many family vacations and in later years loved to travel with their grandsons.

 

 

      John married the former Ellen Grandy on November 12, 1955 and they enjoyed 56 loving years together. Besides his wife Ellen, John leaves four children, Pamela (Randy) Heasley, Michael (Erika) Archambeau, Jeffery
Archambeau, and Jill (Marc) Fontaine. Grandsons Eric and Brett Heasley and Camden Archambeau. Great grandchildren John & Elaina Heasley and Elise & Owen Heasley.      Memorial Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church, 121 S. Harrison St. Saginaw. Dr. Robert L. Emrich will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the memorial service.
