Robert R. Hauk
Passed away Friday, April 27, 2012, at HealthSource, Saginaw following a lengthy illness. Age 89 years.
The son of the late Richard J. and Esther (Tanner) Hauk was born February 9, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Betty J. Prueter, January 21, 1944. She survives him. He served with the
U.S. Army during WWII and was an active member of D.A.V. # 4 and of the Saginaw County Soldiers and Sailors Relief Commission for over 60 years. He was employed by General Motors, Saginaw Steering Gear, Plant 2 retiring with about 30 years of service. He was also employed by Saginaw Mercy Ambulance for twenty-five years. He was a member of Countryside Trinity Church.
Surviving besides his wife, Betty, are four children and their spouses, Sandra and Gerald Babcock; Randy and Patricia Hauk; Ricky and Lynn Hauk; Brenda and Lawrence North; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin Hauk; Michelle and Scott McGrandy; Steven and Candice Babcock; David and Judy Babcock; Amy North; Ryan North; Kelly Bartreau; Cheri and Kevin Schopp; eighteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A sister, Betty Hauk, predeceased him.
The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Kenneth Parker will officiate with Military entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at the Chapel from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday.
