Gustara, Helen Selma

            Passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Edgewood Assisted Living Center, age 87 years.

            Helen was born in Fremont Township, Michigan August 11, 1924 the daughter of the late William and Adella (Beier) Bonnell.   Helen was a 1944 graduate of Hemlock High School.  She married James Gustara October 16, 1948 and he survives her.  Helen was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Guardian Angels, the League of Catholic Women and the Scotch Society.  She enjoyed playing golf, cards and was an excellent bowler.  She also enjoyed living on the farm and gardening.   

            In addition to her husband, Helen is survived by four daughters, Christine (Richard) Beebe, Marlene (Bruce) Hulteen, Betty Hoss and Julie Gustara; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce (Walt) Winchell and Beverly (Dave) Schafer; a sister-in-law, Joyce Bonnell; many nieces and nephews.   She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Thomas Hoss; a sister, Adeline Thomas and two brothers, Rheinold and Norm Bonnell. 

            The funeral liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd.  Rev. Fr. David Parsch will officiate with entombment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at church Wednesday from 10:00 a.m.until time of the service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Edgewood Assisted Living Center or Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
