Survived By: Surviving are two daughters, one son and their spouses, ZsaZsa and Kyle Browne, St. Charles, Amy McGarrity Beene, and David and Amanda McGarrity, all of Shreveport, Louisiana; their mother and his best friend, Margaret McGarrity, Shreveport, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Blaze, Ethan, Samuel, Jamie and David John; his mother, Marilyn McGarrity, Midland; step-father, Kenneth Oswald; one brother, Thomas and Lori McGarrity, Saginaw; one sister, Mary Ann and Robert Brethauer, Saginaw; nieces and nephews, Kristine (Charles), Erica, Zack, Heather, Robert (Amy), Laura Jean, and Michael; several grandnieces and grandnephews; two aunts, Suzie Oleszewski and Carol Fowler; several cousins and many friends.
Affiliations: He graduated from Saginaw High School and attended Delta College. He served with the US Coast Guard. He had been employed by Buick City, Flint, retiring due to disability.

            Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the age of 58 years.

            He was born April 30, 1953, in Saginaw, the son of Marilyn (Hill) and the late Thomas A. McGarrity. He graduated from Saginaw High School and attended Delta College. He served with the US Coast Guard. He had been employed by Buick City, Flint, retiring due to disability. He enjoyed coin collecting and American History. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fishing and camping.      

            Surviving are two daughters, one son and their spouses, ZsaZsa and Kyle Browne, St. Charles, Amy McGarrity Beene, and David and Amanda McGarrity, all of Shreveport, Louisiana; their mother and his best friend, Margaret McGarrity, Shreveport, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Blaze, Ethan, Samuel, Jamie and David John; his mother, Marilyn McGarrity, Midland; step-father, Kenneth Oswald; one brother, Thomas and Lori McGarrity, Saginaw; one sister, Mary Ann and Robert Brethauer, Saginaw; nieces and nephews, Kristine (Charles), Erica, Zack, Heather, Robert (Amy), Laura Jean, and Michael; several grandnieces and grandnephews; two aunts, Suzie Oleszewski and Carol Fowler; several cousins and many friends. Besides his father, Tom, he was predeceased by a brother, David Paul McGarrity.

            Memorial services will take place at 12:00 noon Friday, May 4, 2012, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where his family will receive from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of service.
