Passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning May 2, 2012 at Covenant HealthCare-Harrison in Saginaw at the age of 71 years. Jerry was born April 30, 1941 in Flint, Mi to the late Maurice and Doris (Abrams) Romanowski and has resided in this area for the last 39 years. Jerry was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Saginaw, the Saginaw Exchange Club and sons of Italy singers. He also enjoyed working with wood, especially carving wood, skiing, golfing, ice skating, cooking, gardening and home renovations. His greatest love was spending time with his grandsons.  On April 25, 1964 Jerry married Janet L. Vartyak, she survives him. Also surviving is a son; David A. Romanowski of Freeland, grandsons; Brandon and Andrew Romanowski, two sisters; Diane (Mike) Kelly of Clio, MI, Sandy (Marc) Shirkey of Davison, sister-in-laws; Jane (Yancey) Perrault and Janiele (Rod) DeLisle both of Gains, MI. His faithful companion Brandi (his Golden Retriever) and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive Jerry. Two brothers; Gary and William Romanowski have predeceased Jerry.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 5, 2012 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church (1501 N. Center Rd.), Saginaw. Rev. Marlene Clark will officiate. Per Jerry’s wishes cremation has all ready taken place. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St., Freeland on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the donor’s favorite charity.
