Survived By: He is survived by his parents Gary and Gloria LaForrest, his sister, Rachelle (Kyle) Draggoo of Katy, Texas, his brother, Andre (Cynthia) LaForrest of Jackson, MI, two nephews: Garrett Draggoo and Louis Fraser, two nieces: Olivia Draggoo and Mary Fraser and many close cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents: George and Hilda LaForrest and Norman and Charlotte Wisniewski.
Affiliations: A sport enthusiast and avid athlete he was particularly fond of tennis. For many years he enjoyed working for the Country Club of Jackson. A severe auto accident changed his life forever. He had also previously worked for a short time at the National Methodist Retirement Center in Chelsea, MI and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

    Garypassed away at home attended by his parents, brother and sister after a long, heart-tugging battle with cancer.  He was born 49 years ago inDenver,Coloradoto Gary E. and Gloria (Wisniewski) LaForrest.  Most of his life, however, was spent inMichigan.

     A sport enthusiast and avid athlete he was particularly fond of tennis.  For many years he enjoyed working for the Country Club of Jackson.  A severe auto accident changed his life forever.  He had also previously worked for a short time at theNationalMethodistRetirementCenterinChelsea,MIand theUniversityofMichiganinAnn Arbor.

     Although he had always spent much of his time working he always found time for family.  Everyone remembers him for his unwavering kindness and generosity.

     He is survived by his parents Gary and Gloria LaForrest, his sister, Rachelle (Kyle) Draggoo of Katy, Texas, his brother, Andre (Cynthia) LaForrest of Jackson, MI, two nephews: Garrett Draggoo and Louis Fraser, two nieces: Olivia Draggoo and Mary Fraser and many close cousins.  He was predeceased by his grandparents: George and Hilda LaForrest and Norman and Charlotte Wisniewski.

     The Funeral Mass will be celebratedWednesday, May 9, 2012at10:00amat St. Hyacinth Church.  Fr. Edward J. Konieczka will celebrate Mass.  Friends may call at the church only on Wednesday from9:00amuntil the time ofMass.  In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Hyacinth Church or “Family Wishes.”
