BUDZINSKI, GERALD E.

Essexville

 Age 73 years, died Sunday morning, May 6, 2012 at his home.  He was born May 10, 1938 to the late John and Marie (Piotrowski) Budzinski in Bay City.  In his early years, he tried out for the minor league team of the Detroit Tigers and throughout his life loved all kind of sports.  Jerry was an active golfer, bowler, and enjoyed dancing the polka.  He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Essexville and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Jerry retired from Chemical Bank in 1996 after 40 years of service.

On August 30, 1996 he married the former Alice Chaffin who survives along with his children:  David (Norma) Budzinski, Kimberley Walter; three grandchildren; three step-children:  Kristine (Hussam) Rishmawi, Sarah (Thomas) VanParis, Ryan Balash (fiancée, Jennifer VanWert); eight step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; his brother:  John (Caroline) Budzinski; three sisters:  Kathleen (Gary) Novak, Mary Ann (Tom) Clements, Janice (Rob) Kalmes; and his sister-in-law:  Bernadine Budzinski.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Budzinski.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 6:00 pm in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.
