    Passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Masonic Pathways in Alma, following a two week illness.  Age 78 years

    The son of the late Theodore and Alice (Wills) Rettinger was born September 20, 1933 in Osceola County, Michigan.  He married Lucille Oyster, February 19, 1953. She survives him.  He was employed by General Motors, Saginaw Steering Gear, (Delphi) retiring with over 26 years of service.  He enjoyed bowling, golf, playing pool and going to the casino.

     Surviving besides his wife, Lucille, are a son, two daughters and their spouses,  Lyle and Shirlee Rettinger, Shreveport, LA; Nancy and Louie Becker, Brant, MI; Linda and Harold Kostick, Shields, MI; five grandchildren and their spouses, Chad Becker and his fiancé, Ashley; Jason and Kelly Becker; Corey and Kristy Becker; Tracie and Chase McCune; Shane and Frances Kostick; ten great grandchildren, Nathan, Kaleb, Julie and Derek Becker; Emma McCune; Ethan Becker; Nathaniel Kostick; Alex Thompson, Isabelle and Charleigh  Kostick.  A brother, Lyle Gene Rettinger and a step-brother, Vernie Cleaver, have predeceased him.

      The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with burial in Marion Twp. cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel in Merrill from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the American Cancer Society.
