Rodney (Rod) Allen Maxson

Beaverton, Michigan

Mr. Maxson 57 passed away Monday May 14, 2012 at his home with his loving family at his side following a brief illness. He was born in Midland County on May 20, 1954 to Charles & Rosemary (Gower) Maxson. He was a logger from the time he was 15 years old until he was 32 years old at which time he had a logging accident that left him paralyzed. He loved to work on vehicles, woodworking, hunting and fishing. On May 19, 2000 he married the former Vickie Peppers, she survives him.

He is survived by his  mother Rose Collins, his children Timothy & Lisa Maxson, Tiffany Maxson & fiancée Ken Heiden and Jessica & Scott Gransden; step-daughter Lisa & Elvis Estes, Sarah Strong and Katie Zapata & fiancée Beli Valdovinos; 20 grand children and 1 great grandchild; 2 sisters Darlene Tomczak and Corrine Arft and one brother Victor D. Collins. He was preceded in death by his fathers Charles Maxson & Victor Collins, his brothers David Maxson and Dan Maxson and brother in laws Edward Tomczak and Guy Arft.

In honoring his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be Family & Friends Gathering to celebrate his life at a later date. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family’s wishes. Arrangements are entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home.
