Obituary for Victor J. Campau Sr. of Standish, Michigan

                                                                                                                                                              Victor, age 91, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012 at McLaren Health Care-Bay. He was born to Eli and Elizabeth (Libby) LaBean Campau on November 15, 1920 in Flint, Michigan. Victor married Thelma Bonk in 1946 at Dearborn, Michigan. He was a self-employed carpenter and contractor, working at what he loved well past retirement. Victor served his country  during World War II (1942-1945) in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #104 in Standish.

 

He is survived by his children and their spouses Ann Campau-Selman-Werth and Lee Werth, Victor J. Campau II and Lynda Campau, Dale Raymond and Terry Raymond, Christopher Campau and Kathy Campau, Timothy Campau and Mary (Kitty) Campau, Daniel Campau and Cathy Campau, Eleanor White and Nathanial (Nate) White, Laura Sprywa and Larry Sprywa, and by 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife Thelma and his parents Eli and Libby.

 

Memorial services and Military Honors will take place on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 5:00 PM at the R. O. Savage Funeral Chapel in Standish. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 4:00 PM until service time.
