Malone, Lois Sauer
Lois Malone was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the age of 95 years.
Lois Irmgard Sauer was born December 21, 1916, in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Professor Adolf Sauer and his wife, Wilhelmine nee Westendorf. On January 17, 1917 she became a child of God through baptism atSt. Paul’sLutheranChurchwhere she was a member for most of her life. In 1940 she was married to James Malone who was called home to his heavenly Father on January 13, 1990.
Survivors include a daughter Kathleen A.Wegener and her husband Guy of Rockford, Michigan, a son, James G. Malone ofFloral City,Florida, a daughter Constance J. Greenlee and her husband William of Baton Rouge and a son, Michael J. Malone and his wife, Wendy, of Pinehurst, N.C., one sister-in-law, Sally Sauer, of Washington, MI, one brother, David J. Sauer and his wife Constance, of Shorewood, MN, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Theodore, Walter, and Bertram; one great-grandson, Nick Szymanski; and her husband, James.
Services will be conducted on Saturday, June 9th at 3 pm. by Pastor Steven Hahm at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church inBaton Rouge where she has been a member since 2004. A memorial service will be conducted in Saginaw, Michigan on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at W.L. Case and Company, Funeral Chapel 4480 Mackinaw Rd.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Adolf Sauer Scholarship Fund at Michigan Lutheran Seminary or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
