Egbert, Donna L.
Passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Covenant Cooper at the age of 77. Donna was born February 5, 1935 in Saginaw the daughter of the late Harold E. and Rose D. (Sayan) Goodboo. She married Robert C. Egbert October 16, 1953. He survives her. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Donna loved God with all her heart and put her faith into action by serving others. She was a Commissioned Lay Minister with the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw, a Spiritual Director, and an Affiliate of the Daughters of Charity. She served as Volunteer Chaplain for women at the Saginaw County Jail from 1993 to 2005. She had a special gift for making every person feel special.
Donna was deeply dedicated to her family, leaving a legacy as devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother. Surviving besides her husband Robert are three children, Robert (Julie) Egbert Jr., Richard (Carol) Egbert, Scott (Sara) Egbert, 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister Dora Garrison and special niece Carol Frevola, and several other nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by a daughter Veronica Barnett, brother Gene Goodboo, granddaughter Jessica Grace, and great-grandson Ryan Patrick.
Funeral service will take place 11:00a.m. Thursday July 5, 2012 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church 6400 McCarty Road. Rev. James Carlson will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel 4480 Mackinaw Road on Wednesday July 4, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and then on Thursday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass.
