Frances Mary Morford Thurston (Schmidt)

Saginaw, Michigan

      Passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012.   Age 82 years.

      The daughter of the late George and Melrose (Snider) Morford was born April 29, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan and was a graduate of Saginaw High School in 1948.  She married Marvin L. Schmidt, November 27, 1948. He passed away October 26, 1977. Later she married Donald D. Thurston, January 9, 1982. He passed away in 1996. She retired from St. Lukes Hospital (Covenant) with twenty-three years of service.

      Surviving are a daughter and a son, Deborah M. Carmichael; Marvin G. Schmidt and his wife, Lisa; 9 grandchildren, Lori Winiecke; Vincent Carmichael; Amanda Carmichael; Jeremy Schmidt and his wife, Chelsea; Melissa Schmidt; Joshua Schmidt and his wife, Kristianna; Kristie Schmidt; Sophia Schmidt; Elizabeth Schmidt; 8 great grandchildren, Zachariah, Alexandra; Colton, Caydence, Ryon, Alexis, Joshua and Skyler; several nieces and nephews.  A son-in-law, Glenn R. Carmichael and two brothers, one sister, Lawrence, William and Goldie Morford has predeceased her.

       Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Humane Society of Saginaw County or to the family. www.casefuneralhome.com
