Mr. Sexton passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at his residence at the age of 64 years. He was born January 7, 1948 in Wyandotte, MI. Mr. Sexton retired from G.M. Powertrain Bay City Plant. He was a member of the River Rouge Masonic Lodge #511 and Local #362. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, his monthly meetings with the retirees from General Motors, woodworking and nature. Mr. Sexton served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict.

He is survived by his wife of forty years the former Brinda M. Payne whom he married June 3, 1972. Also surviving are one son; Shawn Sexton of Bay City, MI, one daughter and son-in-law; Tiffany and Jeffrey Nielsen of Wyoming, MI, his granddaughters; Shannon Marie and Amber Nicole Nielsen, one sister; Connie De Sana, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; Gene Sexton and his mother; Ethel Ann Dolak.

Funeral and Committal services will take place Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with cremation following. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
