Vargas, Macario R.
Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 5, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Macario was born January 3, 1925 in Crystal City, Texas the son of the late Trinidad and Pilar (Ruiz) Vargas. He married Teodola Zamora June 1, 1957. She predeceased him February 6, 1995. Macario was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He began working for General Motors, Grey Iron Foundry in 1946 and retired in 1986 after 40 years of service. He enjoyed “farming,” hunting and traveling, usually driving to Texas for the winter.
Macario leaves behind his children, Dolores Vargas, Anna Vargas, Alicia (Hector) Vargas-Montalvo, Miguel Vargas and Rosanna Vargas, all of Saginaw; his grandchildren, Mark, Hannikuh, Angel, Javier, Trinidad, Anna, Macario, Roberto, Savannah, Michaela, Hector, Carmen and Joaquin Vargas; two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Arianna: his sisters, Beatrice (Stanley) Sudek, Ohio, Lydia Vargas, Ohio, Maria (Aniceto) Arteaga, Texas; a sister-in-law, Eva Vargas, California; his brother, Silverio Vargas (Frances), Texas; many nieces and nephews; a dear cousin, Wenceslado Vargas, Texas and his close friend, Joe Guiterrez, Saginaw. He was predeceased by his son, Roberto Vargas; a sister, Ophelia Rios and two brothers, Simon Vargas and Benito Vargas.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 N. 6th St. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, O.F.M., Cap. will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Friday from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. & 7:00- 9:00 p.m. where they may join the family for a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call at church Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to St. Joseph Catholic church.
