Survived By: Mrs. Bannister was born June 15, 1923 in Zalesia, Poland to Alexander and Eva Leach. She is survived by her two children, Dr. Linda (James Hurd) Bannister of Los Angeles and William (Jayne) Bannister III of Grand Blanc. Also survived by two grandchildren, Jessica and Alan and one sister, Patronella (Frank) Steffey of Flushing. Preceded in death by her husband, William Rowland Bannister II.
Affiliations: She proudly served in the Women's Army Corps during WWII in Oberammergau, Germany. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Hale O.E.S., VFW and American Legion. Also a former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale and All Saints Catholic Church in Flint.

GENEVIEVE BANNISTER of Grand Blanc, formerly of Hale and Flint, passed away August 13, 2012 at Angelic Care Home in Davisburg.

 

Mrs. Bannister was born June 15, 1923 in Zalesia, Poland to Alexander and Eva Leach.  She is survived by her two children, Dr. Linda (James Hurd) Bannister of Los Angeles and William (Jayne) Bannister III of Grand Blanc.  Also survived by two grandchildren, Jessica and Alan and one sister, Patronella (Frank) Steffey of Flushing.  Preceded in death by her husband, William Rowland Bannister II.

 

She proudly served in the Women’s Army Corps during WWII in Oberammergau, Germany.  She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Hale O.E.S., VFW and American Legion.  Also a former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale and All Saints Catholic Church in Flint. 

 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 24, 2012 at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6805 Bluegrass Drive, Clarkson, MI  48346.  The family will receive friends at church from 9:30 A.M. until the service at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Jonathan Heierman officiating.  Arrangements entrusted to the Hale Chapel of the Buresh Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions suggested to ELCA World Hunger, P.O.
