KUCZKOWSKI, John J.

of Bay City, Michigan.  Age 83 years, died at his home, Saturday, February 6, 2010.  He was born to Joseph and Gertrude (Mrozinski) Kuczkowski on March 20, 1926 in Bay County, where he resided most of his life.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, honorably serving our country during WWII.  Before his retirement, John was employed with General Motors (Bay City Chevrolet Plant) for 26 years.  He was a member of St. Hyacinth Parish, U.A.W. Local #362 Retirees, Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, and U.S. Bowling Congress.

 On June 11, 1949, John was united in marriage to Lillian B. Reinhardt and they shared their lives together for over 58 years, until her death on December 30, 2007.  Surviving family members include a son, Patrick (Julianne) Kuczkowski of Bay City; two grandchildren, Kelly (John) Yakich and Kevin (Patty) Kuczkowski; four great grandchildren, Breana and John Yakich, and Gage Patrick and Khloe Kuczkowski; along with his sister, Suzanne Linkowski.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Joan Wingard and Kim (Clementine) Eurich.

 The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM in St. Hyacinth Church, Cass & Michigan Streets, Bay City.  John will lie in state in church Tuesday after 12:00 Noon.  Rev. George J. Serour will preside and Rite of Committal will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, with Military Rites by the Bay County Veterans Council.  Memorial contributions may be directed to “family wishes”.  Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.
