Mrs. Mahoney age, 89 passed away Tuesday February 9, 2010 at Bay Shores Nursing Center.  She was born August 25, 1920 to Mary Donnelly in Standish, Michigan.  Lois married the late Edward Mahoney on July 22, 1943 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Standish, MI.  She received a Bachelors Degree in Education from Central Michigan University.  As a caring professional, she taught Music, English, and Art in the Pinconning Area Schools System for 39 years.  Lois loved to pray, teach and play music, but most of all spending time with her family.  She was an active member of St. Michaels Catholic Church for six decades and genuinely involved in their music ministry, the St. Anne Rosary Society, Legion of Mary, League of Catholic Men and Women and she was the former officer of Northern Bay Arenac Retired School Personnel.   She is survived by her two sons Michael E. Mahoney & (Susan Speers) of Lansing, MI,  John C. & (Merricarol) Mahoney of Pinconning, MI, and a grand daughter Meagan Mahoney of Lansing, MI.  She was predeceased by her mother (Mamie) on February 9, 1997 thirteen years to the date and her husband Edward (Red) Mahoney on May 8, 1991. 

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday February 15, 2010 at 11 am from St. Michaels Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak and Deacon Ralph Brisson presiding with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 7p.m.  On Sunday a Rosary will be held at 3 p.m.  Monday Lois will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be given to St. Michaels School or the Pinconning School Music Department.
