Survived By: Surviving Mrs. Tyrrell are her daughter - Linda (Richard) Roberts of Prudenville; three sons, John(Kristine) Tyrrell of Ishpeming, Bruce(Kaye) Tyrrell of Prudenville, and Rick(Rachel) Tyrrell of Freeland; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Gladys L Tyrrell, 100, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at King Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre.

Gladys was born on April 14, 1912 in Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Eliza Jane (Crossley) Sutton. She was married to William "Gar" Tyrrell on June 30, 1946 in Brimley, and he preceded Gladys in death in 1999. She worked for area restaurants as a waitress and cook. She had also worked at the Statlor Hotel in Detroit before the couple had moved to the Houghton Lake area. Gladys was a life member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Prudenville, a member of St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church of Higgins Lake, and she was active in the Ladies Gilds at St. Elizabeth. Gladys enjoyed Crafts, knitting, crocheting, and was an avid baker.

Surviving Mrs. Tyrrell are her daughter - Linda (Richard) Roberts of Prudenville; three sons, John(Kristine) Tyrrell of Ishpeming, Bruce(Kaye) Tyrrell of Prudenville, and Rick(Rachel) Tyrrell of Freeland; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William; daughter, Michelle Wirick; son, Jerry Tyrrell; grandson, Greg Roberts; one brother and four sisters.

Funeral Services for Gladys L Tyrrell will be conducted at 12:00PM on Thursday February 21, 2013 from Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel with Fr. Charles Curtis officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of the service at 12:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial Contribution in memory of Gladys are asked to be directed to King Nursing Home Activities Program or St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church.
