Survived By: Surviving besides his wife Faye are three sons, three daughters and their spouses, Michael and Judith Chauvette, Saginaw; Adele and Michael Samson, Freeland; Renee and Stephen Keyser, Hemlock; Mark and Zena Chauvette, Freeland; Michele and Mark Barlow, Saginaw; Gregory and Kathryn Chauvette, Freeland; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Chauvette, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, Louis, Marguerite and Cecelia Chauvette and Marie Herald.
Affiliations: The son of the late William and Georgianna (Massicotte) Chauvette, Jerry was born June 17, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He married Faye Swarthout, his loving wife of nearly 70 years, on April 10, 1943. She survives him. Jerry was employed as a civil engineer for the City of Saginaw, Consusmer's Power and retired from Spicer Engineering in 1983. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #3292. Jerry and Faye had lived in Gladwin for many years. He enjoyed playing pool, bowling, wood working and loved spending time with his family.

 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Age 91 years. The son of the late William and Georgianna (Massicotte) Chauvette, Jerry was born June 17, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He married Faye Swarthout, his loving wife of nearly 70 years, on April 10, 1943. She survives him.  Jerry’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Katie from V.N.A. Hospice for the loving and compassionate care she gave.

 Honoring Mr. Chauvette’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Friends may call at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where the family will be present on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
