Age 93, passed away Wednesday March 13, 2013 at the Carriage House with
her family at her side. She was born April 10, 1919 in Kawkawlin, Michigan
to the late John and Jennie (Loughton) McDonald. She married Henry S. Putt
on May 2, 1942 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Kawkawlin). He predeceased
her on January 12, 1988. Mary was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic
Church (Auburn), where she was an active member of the Altar Society. She
served her community for 3 terms as Williams Township Clerk in the 1970’s.
She enjoyed camping, baking and spending time with her family. Mary and
Henry owned and operated the family farm in Williams Township for many
years, where they lovingly raised their 7 children. She is survived by her
children; Robert (Carolyn) Putt, Rose Ann (Paul) Schubert, Edward (fiancé
Deanna Sczepanski), James Putt, Susan (David) Krawczyk, Mary Grace (Ralph)
Meyers and Patirck (Andrea) Putt, her brother; Daniel (Doreen) McDonald,
sisters; Cecilia (Howard) Paige, Monica Paige, Genevieve Alarie, Kathleen
(Garry) Wilson, sisters in-law; Donna Johnson and Irene McDonald, 17 grand-
children, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also pre-
deceased by brothers; Allen, Donald and Francis McDonald and sisters; Fidelis
Putt, Mother Maureen McDonald, RSM, Rita Solagar and Odelia McNally.
The funeral liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday March 18, 2013 at
St. Anthony/St. Joseph Catholic Church (Site). Rev. Fr. Thomas E. Sutton
will officiate. Burial will take place Monday afternoon at Calvary Cemetery
(Kawkawlin).Mary’s family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the
Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m.
On Monday Mary will lie in state at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of
liturgy. A vigil service for Mary will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the
funeral home.Those planning an expression of sympathy, envelopes for the
Toni & Trish House (Fisherville) and St. Anthony/St. Joseph Parish Youth
Mission will be available at the funeral home. Mary’s family would like to
thank the staff at the Colonnades, the Carriage House and Dr. Janet Sutton
for their kindness and dedicated assistance given to Mary and her family.
