James Robert Birkenbach, age 68 of Tawas City passed away peacefully on Monday March 8, 2010 at the Tendercare Nursing Facility in Tawas City.  Jim was born in East Tawas on October 27, 1941 to Adam Christopher and Mary Lena Birkenbach.  He graduated from high school in Tawas, and then went to proudly serve our country in the United States ARMY. Jim is survived by his mother, Mary Birkenbach of Tawas City, and several siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a burial of his cremated remains and a graveside service will take place at a later date.  A full and complete obituary will be announced soon.  Condolences can be given to the family on line at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.  Cremation arrangements are by the Buresh and Kobs Funeral Home in Tawas City.
