Survived By: Surviving are one son, Jeremy Challenger and Jennifer Wajer; one sister, Katherine Challenger-Dukarski and her husband Steven Dukarski; James' nieces and nephews, Mark (Trisha) Stabek, Noah (Carrie) Stabek, Christopher (Samantha Glidden) Dukarski, Jeremy (Jennafer Troxell) Dukarski; great-nieces and nephews, Amber and Jamie Kocks and Mark James Stabek.
Affiliations: The son of the late Edward and Elaine (Smith) Challenger, Jim was born March 6, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was previously married to Kelly Dolson. Jim was employed at American Axle for many years until his retirement in 2010. He served on the Saginaw Township Fire Department for several years. Jim was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was actively involved. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed working on vehicles and appliances. Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his family and friends.

 Beloved father and brother passed away suddenly Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his home. Age 53 years. The son of the late Edward and Elaine (Smith) Challenger, Jim was born March 6, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was previously married to Kelly Dolson. Jim was employed at American Axle for many years until his retirement in 2010. He served on the Saginaw Township Fire Department for several years. Jim was a member of TrinityUnitedMethodistChurch where he was actively involved. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed working on vehicles and appliances. Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his family and friends.

 Surviving are one son, Jeremy Challenger and Jennifer Wajer; one sister, Katherine  Challenger-Dukarski and her husband Steven Dukarski; James’ nieces and nephews, Mark (Trisha) Stabek, Noah (Carrie) Stabek, Christopher (Samantha Glidden) Dukarski, Jeremy (Jennafer Troxell) Dukarski; great-nieces and nephews, Amber and Jamie Kocks and Mark James Stabek.

 Funeral service will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Steve Euper will officiate. Honoring James’ wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family.
