Katherine L. Cook died Monday, March 15, 2010 at the age of 91. She was born January 26, 1919 in Boyne City, Michigan the daughter of Pierre and Margaret (Schammer) Speltz. She was retired from the State of Michigan. Surviving are three daughters, Carol (Charlie) Cook-Frechen of Twin Lake, MI, Mary (William) Farkas of Lansing, Susan (Eugene) Howe of Elsie; two sons, Robert (Barbara) Cook of Laingsburg and Michael (Glinda) Cook of Lake City, MI; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Cook, two sisters, Margaret Ciminski, Ann Westover and one brother Theodore Speltz. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 620 N. Mabbit Rd. Ovid, MI with Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Evart, MI at a later date. The family will receive relatives and friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns, MI 989-224-4422 with a rosary prayed at 7:30 PM.
