TERRY, Michael D. - Age 61, of Fenton, died Sunday, November 17, 2013.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and at church Wednesday from 9:30 AM until Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the National Softball Association Michigan Hall of Fame.
Michael was born July 15, 1952 in Flint, the son of Elmo Delbert and Cecelia Mary (Colburn) Terry. He was a 1970 graduate of Fenton High School. He retired from GM Truck and Bus in 2004 after 33 years of service. Michael had resided in Fenton his entire life. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Byron Masonic Lodge #80 F.&A.M. He umpired Little League and High School for 42 years in Fenton. He also umpired with the National Softball Association and was the first official in their Hall of Fame.
Surviving are: 2 sons, Michael D. Terry II and wife Jennifer of Linden and James P. Terry and wife Katie of Hastings; 4 grandchildren, Bryan, Steven, Olivia, and William; mother, Cecelia Terry of Fenton; sister, Julie Dunlap and husband Clyde of Linden; God father, Jerry Palmer and wife Ann of Fenton. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmo Delbert
