Passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning March 11, 2014 at her home in Sanford with her family by her side. Etta was born February 7, 1957 in Lexington, KY to Dortha Bailey Cutshaw and the late George Rilley Cutshaw. Etta has resided in this area for most of her life.  Etta love spending time with her grandkids, she was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Etta was an avid NASCAR fan; she especially enjoyed watching Kevin Harvick.  Etta also enjoyed fishing and watching the grandkids play sports. Etta also enjoyed travelling when she was able to. On February 26, 1974 Etta married James G. Putnam Jr, he survives her.  Also surviving are two daughters; Tonya (Thomas) Richards of Hemlock, Tina Sokolowski of Sanford, three grandchildren; Austin, Megan and Brady.  Her mother; Dortha Cutshaw of Rochester Hills, MI, a brother; George (Lucia) Cutshaw of Livonia, MI, mother-in-law; Rosella Putnam of Hemlock and many nieces and nephews are also surviving Etta. Etta was predeceased by her father; George Cutshaw and her father-in-law; James G. Putnam Sr.

 

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Noon on Saturday March 15, 2014 at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, Freeland. Rev. Randy Saylor will officiate with burial to follow at LaPorte Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St. Freeland on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family Etta J. Putnam.
