Survived By: Merrill is survived by his son Todd (Shari) Hutchins and grandson Gage, of Sanford; two stepsons, Mark (Susan) Krell of Leroy and grandchildren Gabe, Jessica, and Joanna, and their families; and Mike (Linda) Krell of Ocala, Florida and grandchildren Rob, Troy, Travis, David, and Cheryl, and their families. Siblings Richard (Mary) Hutchins of State College, Pennsylvania; Ronald Hutchins of Flint; and Helen (Dave) Damouth of Golden, Colorado.
Affiliations: Merrill had been a Dentist practicing in Clare from 1960 to 1985. He was a member of the Clare Lions Club, having served at one time as the President. Merrill loved his classic cars and cheering on his alma mater's, the University of Michigan and Michigan State.

 

 

Merrill F. Hutchins D.D.S., age 84 of Lake, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Bickford Assisted Living Residence in Midland. Merrill was born the son of the late Fred and Leata (Harder) Hutchins on July 31, 1930 in Flint. He was united in marriage to Merne Shull in June of 1963 with her predeceasing him in 2006. Merrill had been a Dentist practicing in Clare from 1960 to 1985. He was a member of the Clare Lions Club, having served at one time as the President. Merrill loved his classic cars and cheering on his alma mater's, the University of Michigan and Michigan State.

 

 

 

Merrill is survived by his son Todd (Shari) Hutchins and grandson Gage, of Sanford; two stepsons, Mark (Susan) Krell of Leroy and grandchildren Gabe, Jessica, and Joanna, and their families; and Mike (Linda) Krell of Ocala, Florida and grandchildren Rob, Troy, Travis, David, and Cheryl, and their families. Merrill was predeceased by his brother Herbert, and his sister Joy Merritt.

 

 

 

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home from 2 -4 and 6 -8 P.M. Services will be Tuesday beginning at 10 A.M. at the Funeral Home with Mr. Lawrence D. Wyman, Sr. officiating. Burial will be held in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare.
