Survived By: She is survived by her longtime friends Charles Cotterman and Peggy Bateman, her sisters Mary and Elizabeth of Calumet, MI, and her children: Patricia (Brian) McHenry of South Carolina, Rebecca (James) Parks, Saudia Jill (Darrell) Petersen, Russell (Vicki) Hamilton, Gina Hamilton, Edward (Peg) Hamilton, Steven (Joye) Hamilton of Indianapolis, and Shannon (Rob) Mester of Greensburg, Kentucky. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 2157 teddy bears.
Affiliations: Madeline loved spending time with her family and friends, and was dedicated to children's education, spending more than 20 years working in head start programs. She loved to dance and make craft projects, and was often found at her sewing machine.

 

After a long, graceful battle with cancer, Madeline Henry Hamilton Putnam passed away, surrounded by her family and friends, on November 5, 2014.

 

She is survived by her longtime friends Charles Cotterman and Peggy Bateman, her sisters Mary and Elizabeth of Calumet, MI, and her children: Patricia (Brian) McHenry of South Carolina, Rebecca (James) Parks, Saudia Jill (Darrell) Petersen, Russell (Vicki) Hamilton, Gina Hamilton, Edward (Peg) Hamilton, Steven (Joye) Hamilton of Indianapolis, and Shannon (Rob) Mester of Greensburg, Kentucky. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 2157 teddy bears.

 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Earl Hamilton, Jr., her second husband Clifford Putnam, and her son Michael Hamilton.

 

Madeline loved spending time with her family and friends, and was dedicated to children’s education, spending more than 20 years working in head start programs. She loved to dance and make craft projects, and was often found at her sewing machine.

 

Visitation will be held at Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home in Farwell on Friday from 2-4, and 6-8. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11am.

 

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Surrey Township Library.
