Maryjoel McNaughton, 91 of Reese, formerly of Caro and Zephyrhills, Florida, died April 26, 2010 at the Lutheran Home of Frankenmuth. She was born May 4, 1919 in Flint, daughter of the late Rollo C. and Mollie (Sheets) Hall.  She was the eldest of three children.  Her siblings, Anna Kilbreath and Roderick predeceased her. On October 15, 1937, she was married to Nicholas Keller in Flint. Together they had a daughter and a son.  Over the years, Maryjoel worked as the bookkeeper of her husband’s carpentry business, as waitress at Zehnder’s Restaurant in Frankenmuth, hostess at Johnnie Ryan’s in Saginaw, as a cook for Reese Public Schools, and as manager of Caro Coinette and Launderette.  Her husband, Nicholas, passed away June 10, 1977.  She was married to Lloyd (Duffy) McNaughton on July 4, 1984, her father once again giving her hand in marriage, with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as attendants.  She and Lloyd (Duffy) moved to Zephyrhills, Florida in 1984.  Lloyd passed away in January of 1996. Maryjoel returned to live in Reese in 2008 to be closer to her family. Maryjoel, (a.k.a. Joey) enjoyed gardening and was known for her beautiful roses and vegetable gardens. She also loved parties with music and dancing, playing cards and cooking for family and friends.

 Surviving are her daughter and son and their spouses, Mernita (Keller) and Gilbert “Gib” Palmreuter, of Reese; and Paul and Jeanette Keller of Vassar; six grandchildren and their spouses:  Lynne and John German of Davisburg; Nicholas and Sandy Palmreuter of Saginaw; Max and Angela Palmreuter of Reese; Erin and Kevin Beller of Reese; Karl Keller of Georgia; and Annette and Harvey Bell of Deford; Eighteen great-grandchildren, Brandon German and his wife Nicole, Shaun German, Grant German, Tara Bernthal,  Shannon Palmreuter, Sarah Palmreuter, Stephanie Palmreuter, Samantha Palmreuter, Spencer Palmreuter,  Tessa and Anthony Lasiewicki , Hannah Beller, Emily Beller, Kristen Dennis and husband Taylor,  Kyle Keller, Autumn Helland, Scarlet Valdez and husband Chris and Marcel Helland. Four great-great grandchildren: Mackenzie Ellison, Brynn German, Hunter Davis and Avalon Davis. In addition to her parents, siblings and two husbands, Mrs. McNaughton was predeceased by two grandchildren, Marcel Keller, May 7, 1975, and Kurt Matthew Palmreuter, March 18, 1984.

In honoring Maryjoel’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese. Reverend Wesley Gillaspie of the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville will officiate.  Mrs. McNaughton’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services. Inurnment will take Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw.
