Survived By: She is survived by her two sisters: Linda (William) Caprathe of Bay City, and Cynthia Arbour of Atlanta, MI; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers: Ralph, William, Kent, Gerald, Victor, Phillip, and Peter.
Affiliations: Elsie served as the former Sister Mary Michael with the Sisters of St. Joseph for 9 years as a missionary in West Virginia. She later left the convent and became the Director of Teacher Personnel for the State of Michigan, specializing in certification and placement for 32 years before her retirement. Elsie was a member of St. Augustine Church in Hillman, MI.

Age 77 years, died Thursday, August 20, 2015.  She was born to the late Emil and Cecilia (Guertin) Arbour on January 9, 1938 in Detroit, MI.  Elsie served as the former Sister Mary Michael with the Sisters of St. Joseph for 9 years as a missionary in West Virginia.  She later left the convent and became the Director of Teacher Personnel for the State of Michigan, specializing in certification and placement for 32 years before her retirement.  Elsie was a member of St. Augustine Church in Hillman, MI.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, August 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM in All Saints Parish (Church of St. Boniface, 510 N. Lincoln, Bay City, MI 48708).  Elsie will lie in state in church Monday after 9:00 AM.  Rev. Stephen J. Fillion will preside with private interment in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, Hillman, MI.  Memorial contributions may be directed to “Wishes of the Family.”  Visiting hours are Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with the Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, at the W.
