James (Fred) F. Teeple, age 84 of Grayling , MI (formerly of Mayville) passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Northern Pines Assisted Living of Grayling.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 1 PM at the Mayville United Methodist Church, 601 E. Ohmer Rd. with Pastor Carole Brown officiating.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the church from 10 AM until the time of service.

Interment will be at the Rich Township Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post 181 and the Mayville/Vassar VFW Post 10884.

Memorials may be made to the Mayville American Legion/VFW.

Fred was born March 14, 1932 in Mayville to Bertrum and Myrtle (Bristol) Teeple. He was a 1951 graduate of Mayville High School. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and served during the Korean conflict. Fred was a member of the Mayville VFW. He married Aileen Cook in July 1955, she preceded him in death in 2001. Fred had many jobs during his life, farming the farm on Cat Lake Rd., Clifford Machine Shop, Day/Fox Industries, Day Fox and Talsma Ford of Mayville, Graber Shade Co., Saginaw, and the Tuscola County Skill Center, Caro, where he taught agriculture and diesel mechanics.

Fred is survived by two children, Deborah Frederoski of Ridgway, PA and James E. (Linda) Teeple of Grayling; one brother, Tim Teeple of Grayling, six grandchildren, Ross, Ryan (Tiffany), Stacy, Kimberly, Amanda, Karl, and eight great grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Eddie and Wilbert; and one sister, Margaret Vollweiler.
