Passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening January 4, 2017 at Barton Woods Assisted Living Center, Freeland at the age of 102 years. Emma was born in Detroit, MI November 14, 1914 to the late Gregorio and Vincenza (Frontiera) Prezzato and has spent most of her life in this area. Emma was a lifelong member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Saginaw (Christ the Good Shepherd Parish). Emma celebrated her 100th birthday on November 14, 2014. She was a great Italian cook. She made the best chicken soup ever, and she is famous for her delicious Italian cookies. She retired from St. Vincent De Paul Store in Saginaw, MI where she worked for many years. She lived life to the fullest and was a very amazing woman. On November 15, 1934 Emma married Vito Ciaramitaro, he predeceased her in June 1957. Emma is survived by her three children; Rosemary (Peter) Alfano of Saginaw, Jennie Lee (David) Schultz of Torch Lake, Fred (Mary Kay) Ciaramitaro of Harbor Springs, Seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Emma was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 7, 2017 at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Catholic Church, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Ronald F. Wagner will officiate. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday January 9, 2017 at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Saginaw Rescue Mission, St. Jude children’s Hospital or the donor favorite charity.
