Leslie J. Asbury, 86, of Tawas City, Michigan passed away Monday afternoon, January 9, 2017 at Tendercare Nursing Home in Tawas City, Michigan
Leslie was born March 1, 1930 in Wayne County, Michigan. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and fulfilled his obligation of service mainly on land photographing for the military. He was employed by General Motors for 27 years as a skilled trade tool and die maker. After retirement, he and his wife, Bonita, retired to the Tawas area where they would call home. Bonita preceded Leslie in death January 25, 1997.
Leslie was an avid fisherman taking many fishing trips around the state. He spent time assisting the Forestry Department. Leslie was also known for his patience and intricate detail work.
Leslie is survived by his children, Keith (Jamie) Asbury of Tawas City, Michigan, Debbie Cler of Waterford, Michigan, Nancy (Joe) Wysocki of Clarkston, Michigan, Erin (Kraig) Papenfus of Saginaw, Michigan, and Denise Clevland of Thousand Oaks, California; grandchildren, Kolton, Konner, David, Chris, Stacey, Stephanie, Beckey, Diane, Joseph, Robert and Brian; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Leslie will take place 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Buresh Funeral Home, 416 Whittemore Street, Tawas City, Michigan 48763. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Lawrence Boks officiating. Honoring Leslie’s wishes, cremation will follow.
