Edna Elizabeth (Mahoney) Patelski
Edna, age 92, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. She was born on July 13, 1924 in St. Charles, Michigan to the late Ray and Elizabeth Kothe Mahoney. She married Eugene on August 1, 1942 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saginaw, Michigan. He predeceased her on July 30, 1989. She was an avid gardener and quilter. She enjoyed family and friends, going to the senior center and traveling. She was proud of her service as a bus driver with Buena Vista Schools and Treasurer of SEIU.
She is survived by her three loving children whom she cherished, Gary (Arlene) Patelski, Mary McKay, Karen (Floyd) Tilden, 13 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She has three brothers and their spouses Tom (Julia) Mahoney, Ray (Judy) Mahoney, and Ron (Bonnie) Mahoney. She was preceeded in death by her son Rex, daughter-in-law, Merrie Jo, son-in-law Dennis McKay and her sisters Rosemary, Margaret and brothers Walt, Jerry, Harold and Neil and several in-laws.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday January 16, 2017 at 11:00 am from St. Francis de Sales Parish, St. Christopher Church, 3945 Williamson Rd. Saginaw, MI with Rev. Fr. John Mancini O.S.F.S. and Deacon Gary Patelski presiding with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the at St. Francis de Sales Parish, St. Christopher Church on Sunday January 15, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm. On Monday, Edna will lie in state at the church from 9 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the wishes of the family.
