Survived By: Doris will be greatly missed by all of her family. Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey and Karen Haenlein, Lake Leelanau; Douglas and Karen Haenlein, Saginaw; Kim and Teri Haenlein, Linden; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey (Krista Brock), Hillary, Heather (Trevor) Szafranski, Matthew (Alejandra), Kimberly, Dalton and Nason; seven great-grandchildren, Alexis, Mariah and Landon Haenlein, Huxley and Ellis Duncan, Bentley and Breslyn Szafranski; a brother, Glen (Karen) Herron, Lachine; a sister, Kay (Jerry) LaCombe, Lachine; a sister-in-law, Joyce Herron, Anderson, South Carolina; many dear nieces and nephews; she also leaves behind a dear friend, Jeannie Bishop. Doris was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters, Nelson, Orville, Elden, Dale Herron, Elva Alexander and Florence Oullette; a grand-daughter, Brooke Haenlein; and her special friend and companion of more than 30 years, William Cullen.
Affiliations: The daughter of the late Frank and Beulah (Black) Herron, Doris was born July 18, 1921, in Spratt, Michigan. Doris enjoyed craft shows, gardening, flowers, playing cards, watching birds, and visiting with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at home. Age 95 years. The daughter of the late Frank and Beulah (Black) Herron, Doris was born July 18, 1921, in Spratt, Michigan.  Doris enjoyed craft shows, gardening, flowers, playing cards, watching birds, and visiting with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

 Doris will be greatly missed by all of her family.  Doris’ family would like to acknowledge the staff of St. Francis Home and VNA Hospice for their care.    

 Honoring Doris’ wishes, her anatomical gift was made to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with cremation to follow. A prayer service and opportunity to share memories will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, at Apple Mountain, 4519 N. River Road, Freeland, Michigan, followed by a celebration of life from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Burial will take place on a later date at Spratt Cemetery, Lachine, Michigan.
