Survived By: Surviving family members include all her sons and their families: John (Christine), Scott (Mary), Greg (Sue), David (Kelly), Paul (Carol), Brian (Melissa) and Glenn Martin, grandchildren: Melissa, Jeffrey (Cassie), Andrew (Fariah), Benjamin, Mary, Heather, Ashley, Amanda and Adam; great grandchildren: Rykin, Rohen and Camden. Also one brother in-law Earl Martin and his family. Besides her husband Virgil and her parents, Marianne was predeceased by brothers: John (Julie), Jim (Gertrude), Aloysius (Loretta), Raymond (Mary), Charles (June) and infant brother William Heintskill. She was also predeceased by her half-brother Roman (Mae) Frieders and half-sister Gertrude (Phillip) Koenigs.
Affiliations: She worked at a very young age to help lend support to her family after the tragic accidental death of her father and helping her mother during WWII while all her brothers fought for our country. She was well known and liked by all of Downtown Bay City businesses where she worked and modeled women's clothing. She was featured in fashion shows and highlighted by the Bay City Times over several years. Marianne found the love of her life in Virgil A. Martin with whom she married June 9, 1951. They moved to Essexville in 1955 with their young family and she resided in the home they built the rest of her life. She was married to Virgil for 47 years until his death on March 31, 1998. She and Virgil where blessed with seven sons all of which survive her. Marianne was a devoted wife, mother and doting grandmother and great grandmother. Even with such a large family you never felt left out or lost in the crowd as she had a way to make each and every one of us feel loved and receiving of her special attention. Marianne was strong yet tender women of strong Christian faith and a special devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary and prayed the Rosary. She loved growing her flowers including irises, roses, lily of the valley and maintain her special lilac bush. She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish. She was very active through the years with the Consumers Energy Retirement Community for which she planned and organized events and also supported through her crafts and baked goods.

     Marianne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Bay County Medical Care Facility, age 90.  She was born June 29, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late John and Elizabeth (Frieders) Heintskill.  They moved to Bay City where Marianne grew up and graduated from St. James High School.  She was a tireless worker caring for all of her family.  She worked at a very young age to help lend support to her family after the tragic accidental death of her father and helping her mother during WWII while all her brothers fought for our country.  She was well known and liked by all of Downtown Bay City businesses where she worked and modeled women’s clothing.  She was featured in fashion shows and highlighted by the Bay City Times over several years.  Marianne found the love of her life in Virgil A.
