David L. Robson
Bay City, Michigan
David Lewis Robson, 81, passed away on March 16, 2017, surrounded by his family and into the loving arms of the Lord. David was born on June 21, 1935 in Bay City, MI, to Lewis and Alba (Moeller) Robson. He graduated from TL Handy High School in 1953. On Sept 22, 1956, he married Ardis Wirgau of Rogers City. They recently celebrated their 60Th anniversary with family and friends. He retired from Dow Chemical’s Instrument Dept. in Midland, MI, after 39 years and had spent time in Korea and Canada working for Dow. Over the years, David loved to travel and visited each of the 50 states. While raising his children, he and Ardis took them on road trips across the country several times, visiting various landmarks such as Yellowstone National Park, Mount Rushmore, Disneyland, and so many more. But more than anything, David will be known for his selfless giving. He spent many years going to Haiti and Kentucky for mission trips as well as building houses for Habitat for Humanity, helping to bring and promote the Walleye for Warriors program to Bay City, being a Big Brother to several, and helping with the 4H leading disabled children on horse rides. For years he loved to walk for exercise and achieved his goal of walking the equivalent of the number of miles around the earth at the equator. David was also an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish, spending many hunting seasons in Wyoming.
David was predeceased by a sister, Jean, in 2013. He is survived by his wife, Ardis, his children, Debra (Frank) Milkowski, Susan Robson, and Thomas (Kelly) Robson, his grandchildren Jordan Milkowski, Shay (Drew) Ferrell, Rachel Robson, and Reid Robson, and his great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Milkowski, Cameron Ferrell, Hailie Milkowski, Averie Milkowski, Ariana Ferrell, and Parker Ferrell (to be born in May).
David loved all and was loved by all who met him. He leaves behind many, many friends.
