Survived By: two children, Julie (Thomas) O'Connor of Ubly and Eric (Tammy) Chappel of Madison, AL; seven grandchildren, Dana (Larry), Mackenzie (Justin), Kyle (Amy), Courtney, Justin, Lydia and Tessa; five great grandchildren, Karlyn, Trace, Clara, Gordon and Liam and many nieces and nephews

     Marilyn J Chappel, age 79, of Elkton passed away Friday morning, March 31, at Scheurer Hospital Long Term while under hospice care.

     She was born September 12, 1937 at the home of her parents, the late Emanuel and Lydia (Stecker) Forster in Oliver Twp. and grew up on the family farm.

     On September 13, 1958, she was united in marriage to William H Chappel at the EUB Church in Elkton. They returned to Elkton following her husband’s discharge from the Navy. Bill preceded her in death just 13 days earlier on March 19th.

     Marilyn enjoyed traveling, doing puzzles, casino trips, and especially spending time with her family. 

     Surviving are two children, Julie (Thomas) O’Connor of Ubly and Eric (Tammy) Chappel of Madison, AL; seven grandchildren, Dana (Larry), Mackenzie (Justin), Kyle (Amy), Courtney, Justin, Lydia and Tessa; five great grandchildren, Karlyn, Trace, Clara, Gordon and Liam and many nieces and nephews.

     Preceding her in death were six brothers, Gus, Rudy, John, Otto, Walt and Roger and two sisters, Elsie Posade and Edna Forster.

     Due to the recent death of Bill, the family has decided to postpone a memorial service until June 3, details will be published closer to the day of services.
