Douglas Fay Fox, age 86, of Mayville, MI passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center Cooper of Saginaw.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church Site in Mayville with Father Jerzy Dobosz officiating.
The family will receive visitors at the Avram Funeral Home Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 2-8 PM with a Rosary at 6 PM. Visitation will also take place Thursday from 10 AM until service time at the church.
Interment will take place at Rich Township Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Mayville/Vassar VFW Post 10884 and American Legion Post 181 of Mayville.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Douglas was born April 13, 1930 in Mayville and was the only child of Carlton & Gladys (Huntley) Fox. He married Sharron M. Blink June 14, 1952 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and Army. He loved his grandchildren, woodworking, horses, camping, the Detroit Tigers, and sharing good times with family and friends. Douglas was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville, Tuscola County Sheriff's Possee, and the Mayville American Legion Post 181. Douglas retired as a meat inspector for the federal government.
Douglas is survived by four sons, Eric (Pamela) of Caro, Kevin (Mary) of Rapid City, MI, Scott (Vicky) and Matthew (Kimberly) of Mayville; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sharron, in 2011; son, Jerome; and twin grandsons, Earl and Edward.
