Survived By: Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Perry (Thomas VanMullekom) and Karen (Kevin) Shoskey, daughter in-law Ronnie Rooker, five grandchildren: Christin (Roy) Perry-Michalik, Richard (Dana) Shoskey, Kellyn (Jordan) Blewett, Kylynn Rooker (Eric) and Jessica Rooker, six great grandchildren: Grayson, Carter, Eliza, Hazel, Jocelyn and Emberlie. Margaretha was predeceased by her son Kenneth Rooker.
Affiliations: Margaretha worked in the drapery department at JC Penney when it was downtown Bay City and a member of the former Memorial Presbyterian Church on Lafayette. She loved Bay City history and was a member of the Historical Society, Museum and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, and crafts and adored spending time with her grandchildren.

    Mrs. Rooker passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Plainview Assisted Living in Auburn, age 85.  She was born March 17, 1932 in Bay City to the late Albert and Martha (Schweitzer) Elsen.  She married Roy H. Rooker on November 10, 1951 and he predeceased her in 2003.  Margaretha worked in the drapery department at JC Penney when it was downtown Bay City and a member of the former Memorial Presbyterian Church on Lafayette.  She loved Bay City history and was a member of the Historical Society, Museum and the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, and crafts and adored spending time with her grandchildren.

     The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Squires Funeral Home.  Pastor John Essex will officiate.  Private inurnment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery at a later date.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, the Rooker family strongly suggests memorial contributions be considered for the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Survivors of Suicide.  www.squiresfuneralhome.com
