Rick was called to his home in Heaven on Thursday, May 11, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer passing peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was born on May 25, 1963 and was a lifetime resident of Bay County. Graduating from Western High School in 1982, Rick worked for the Meijer Corporation for 31 years. June 10, 1989 Rick married the love of his life, Rachel Melinat, together they raised two wonderful sons, Kyle and Jacob whom he cherished. A devoted husband, loving father, avid sportsman, and gifted woodworker. Rick built memories with his hands and heart his family will cherish forever and he will be greatly missed by those who loved him until they meet again. Surviving besides his wife and sons is his mother Donna (Petrimoulx) Meylan, siblings, Rene (Jamie) Woods, Ronald (Rebecca) Meylan, Jr., Rodney Meylan (Teri Moore), Roger (Christina) Meylan, Rhonda (Bradley) Lewis and Robert (Tina) Meylan, father and mother in law Theodore and Mary Melinat, sister in laws, Beth Randolph, Kathryn (Kip) Vreeland and Lois Melinat. Rick is also survived by many aunts and uncles,  nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father Ronald Meylan, Sr., and brother in law Stephen Randolph.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11 am from Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Leroy Westphal presiding with a private burial in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the chapel on Monday from 2 to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 10 am until time of service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt sincere thank you to the family, friends, and medical professionals that came together to benefit our time in need.
