Also surviving is his mother, Rose (Bernelis) Castaneda; four sisters and three brothers, Kathy (Bill) White; Ken (Sharon) Castaneda; Mary Kay (Mark) Walkowiak; Karen (Tim) Wagner; Barb (Frank) Smith; Joe (June) Castaneda; Anthony Castaneda; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry A. Castaneda was called home by his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 62 years.  He was born September 29, 1954 in Bay City.  Larry served our country in the U.S. Army and worked many years at Bay City Powertrain before retiring.   He enjoyed the simple things in life such as fishing, camping, canoeing, playing euchre, watching baseball and attending NASCAR races as well as watching them.  Larry was very passionate about his grandchildren, nieces and nephews in watching their sporting events.  Larry was a true motorcycle enthusiast and would ride his Harley all over the country.  Surviving are four children, Angela Rae; Greg Castaneda; Michele “Shel” Bernard; Steven Castaneda; eleven grandchildren, Zacharia; Jacob; Hannah; Billy; Aiden; Bryanna; Austin; Isiah; Samantha; Chloe; Sean; and three great grandchildren.  Also surviving is his mother, Rose (Bernelis) Castaneda; four sisters and three brothers, Kathy (Bill) White; Ken (Sharon) Castaneda; Mary Kay (Mark) Walkowiak; Karen (Tim) Wagner; Barb (Frank) Smith; Joe (June) Castaneda;  Anthony Castaneda; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his father, Raymond and his brother, John Castaneda.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 22, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. from Our Lady of Czestohowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. Rick Filary will officiate with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-8 P.M. and at the Church on Monday after 12:00 noon.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Survivors of Suicide or Family Wishes.
