Walter G. Lasceski, 70, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 30, 2017.

 

Walter was born in Bad Axe on May 10, 1947 to the late Gordon and Anastasia (Fischer) Lasceski.   He graduated from North Huron High School.

 

Walter’s greatest passion was farming.  Being a third generation farmer, he owned and operated Lasceski farms with his son, Gordon.   He loved raising cattle and pigs.   Walter was employed by Thumb Tool for twenty three years.

 

He married Joann Navock on April 24, 1987 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kinde, Michigan.  She preceded him in death in 2016.

 

Walter is survived by his son, Gordon Lasceski and his wife, Kayla of Kinde; granddaughter, Annie; two step-sons: Kerry and Brian Hoody and their families.  He is also survived by his two sisters, Cecelia Szuran and Veronica Duda; brother, Thomas Lasceski and his wife, Diane; sisters in law, Marlene Jimpkoski and her husband, Gerald, Karen Koroleski and her husband, Chuck, Jackie Blossom and Mary Craig and her husband, John; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother and father in law, Frank and Bernice Navock; and his brothers in law, Andrew Szuran and Frank Duda.

 

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dwight Township with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating.  Burial will be at the church cemetery.

 

Visitation will be 2 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde, Michigan with Scripture service at 7 p.m.  On Thursday, visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the chapel. 

 

Memorials may be offered to the Annunciation of the Lord Parish.
