Survived By: She will be missed by her husband of sixty-one years, Fred; children, Cherie (Larry) Kube of Brighton, Toni (James) Welch of Arizona, Patricia (Ted) Martin of Higgins Lake, and Steven (Amy) Schaeding of Saginaw; sisters and brother, Stella Mastaw, Theresa Cragg, and Thomas Langley Jr; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; and son-in-law Don Buckley of Hemlock. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Buckley; and by one brother and four sisters.

Shirley Mae Schaeding, 80, of Sanford, died Saturday morning, July 1, 2017 at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born December 23, 1936 in Midland, daughter of the late Thomas and Mable (Nicaloi) Langley.  On April 14, 1956 she married Frederick Schaeding.  She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.  She enjoyed traveling all fifty of the United States and many locations around the world, as well as cooking and crafts.  She loved her family, especially her husband.

 

She will be missed by her husband of sixty-one years, Fred;  children, Cherie (Larry) Kube of Brighton, Toni (James) Welch of Arizona, Patricia (Ted) Martin of Higgins Lake, and Steven (Amy) Schaeding of Saginaw; sisters and brother, Stella Mastaw, Theresa Cragg, and Thomas Langley Jr; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren;  and son-in-law Don Buckley of Hemlock.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Buckley; and by one brother and four sisters.

 

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2500 N West River Road in Sanford.  Fr. Daniel J. Fox OFM Cap will officiate, with graveside burial rites to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw.  Shirley’s family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of the Liturgy.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider, rather than flowers, MidMichigan Hospice or the American Cancer Society.  Arrangements for Mrs. Schaeding have been entrusted to the care of the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street.
