Survived By: Surviving are two daughters and one son, Nancy and Norman Bamberger, Saginaw; Patricia Albosta and Mark Paull, Saginaw; William Fillion and Brenda Berdella, Saginaw; six grandchildren, Damon and Trisha Duran, Todd Fillion, Marcus and Molly Duran, Travis and Ashley Buchinger, Timothy and Elizabeth Fillion and Tara and Anthony Schultz; nine great -grandchildren, Path Fillion, Lucas, Emma, Ava and Brooklynn Duran, Ethan Buchinger, Owen, Amelia and Elliott Schultz; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Baumgartner, Kankakee, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers and sister-in-law, Melvin and Geraldine Baumgartner and Donald Baumgartner. A special thanks to the staff at Shattuck Manor and New Hope Valley for the love and care they have given to Ruth and her family.

Daughter of the late Arthur and Frieda (Koski) Baumgartner, Ruth was born March 14, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Stanley H. Fillion on April 17, 1948. He predeceased her December 5, 2008. Ruth was employed at Michigan National Bank for 19 years retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church site, a member of the Ladies Rosary Altar Society and its senior's Club. Ruth enjoyed golf, playing cards and traveling with her husband. Ruth was devoted to her family and left many beautiful memories to cherish.

 Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at New Hope Valley. Age 91 years. Daughter of the late Arthur and Frieda (Koski) Baumgartner, Ruth was born March 14, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Stanley H. Fillion on April 17, 1948.   Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday July 5, 2017 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). St. John Paul II Ladies Rosary Altar Society will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and a Vigil Service, led by Rev. Fr. Stephen J. Fillion, will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private committal service will take place at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
