Rosella C. Herzog

Frankenmuth, MI

Rosella Caroline Herzog, age 87, died peacefully at Cartwright Hospice Residence after suffering a broken leg and subsequent complications.  Rosella was born June 15, 1930 in Richville, to Arthur and Rosa (Kern) Schwab.  In her younger years, she played accordion for local dances as Rosie of “Rosie & the Riveters”.

On October 30, 1949, she married Floyd E. Herzog, who predeceased her in 1987.  In addition to helping Floyd on the farm, she was a 1953 polio survivor and raised their two sons.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and playing cards with her grandchildren and friends.  Our beloved Oma had an easy smile and infectious laugh that will be missed.  Rosella was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society, along with the Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Neil and Ruth Herzog of Frankenmuth and Jacob and Ruth Anne Herzog of Duvall, Washington.  As well, her grandchildren Aaron (Kelsey) Herzog, Rebekah (Jason) Pearson, Kristin (Kevin) Cline, Sarah (Sam) Kauzlarich, Angela (Daniel) Coleman, Seth (Ashley) Herzog, Eva (Stephen) Kostus.  Great-grandchildren Liam, Elias, Ella Rose, Lincoln, Judah, Ezra and Clara Rose.  Sister-in-law Leona Herzog, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her husband and parents, brother, John and sister, Margaret predeceased her.
