George Edward Costello, 75, of Kinde, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2017 at Huron County Medical Care Facility under Compassus Hospice care.


George was born in Bad Axe, Michigan on October 13, 1941 to the late William J. and Mary A. (McGee) Costello.


He graduated from the Flint High School for the Deaf in 1961.   George worked as a physical therapy assistant for many years at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.  


George was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church/Annunciation of the Lord Parish, where he ushered.   He was a member of the Port Austin U & I Club and the Kinde Senior Club.  


George enjoyed downhill skiing, golfing, and traveling.   He was an avid Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan football fan.  George was North Huron High School’s number 1 fan, attending every sport games.


George is survived by his sisters, Virginia Eskau and her husband, Raymond, of Caseville and Peggy Sturm of Port Austin; and several nieces and nephews. 


He was preceded in death by his sister, Delores (Marion) Bell; his brother, Bill (Elaine) Costello and his nephew, Ray Eskau.


Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Kinde with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating.   Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.  with a Scripture service at 7 p.m.


Memorials may be offered to the North Huron High School Sports Fund or to Donor’s Choice.
